Eisregen

Earlier this year we (the Concreteweb headquarters) did receive the latest full length by German Dark Metal act Eisregen, called Todestage (the album was initially released at the very end of last year, for your information).

Angist

Iceland is not such a ‘big’ country when it comes to Extreme Metal. I do know some hands full of Black Metal acts from this beautiful island, but when it comes to death Metal, I am not that informed. Besides bands like Malignant Mist, Beneath, Narthraal or Ophidian I, I cannot sum up many interesting Death Metal bands that rule the current scene.

The Lustmord

This album does not deal with the (fantastic) Wales-based Industrial / Dark Ambient project by Brian Williams, written without prefix ‘the’, but with the Phoenix, Arizona-based Extreme Metal act written with the prefix ‘the’.

Stuka Party

Ever heard about Stuka Party? I honestly did not, but apparently it is a project by William Blackmon, the guy behind Gadget and formerly of Withered Beauty-fame, as well as the owner (and well-known sound engineer) of the notorious Musikhuset Gävle Studio. With Schmeiser Smasher, and in co-operation with Dutch top-label Hammerheart Records, he releases a very limited (i.e.

Sinister

It has no use to go to deep into the history of Sinister, one of The Netherlands’ best known and most influential bands ever. They were formed in 1989 and joined the Nuclear Blast-roster at the beginning of the nineties. This resulted in several albums: Cross The Styx (which I think is still a cult-record), Diabolical Summoning, Hate, Bastard Saints, Aggressive Measures, Creative Killings, and Savage Or Grace.

Rahu

Finnish duo Rahu (with Devilry’s Kobalt on vocals and drums, and bass / guitar player Miikka ‘Atvar’ Rautiainen, known from e.g. Venus Star, Circle Of Ouroborus, Verivala and Vordr) return with their first official full length studio recording.

Puteraeon

Swedish act Puteraeon was formed in 2008 by current and former members of e.g. Killaman, Taetre and Nominon (and truly many others). They recorded three demos in quite a short period (indeed, these guys were very enthusiastic and creative), which drew attention of mighty Cyclone Empire.

Jumalhämärä

Jumalhämärä have always been a band apart with their eccentric aural creations. I first heard about them by means of the 2010-full length Resignaatio (check out the review, posted in the Archive-section and updated on November 26th 2010), also released via current label Ahdistuksen Aihio Productions. Last year, they came with Resitaali, which was originally released on vinyl only.

Heid

Heid are a pretty young act from Spain, with former members of Liquid Graveyard and The Thousand Faces. They released a three-track demo in 2013 and shortly after, the band started working on a first EP, which this review will deal with. It’s a five-tracker that lasts for almost half an hour (the songs have duration in between four and eight minutes).

Creinium

Finland’s Creinium were formed in Spring 2012 by Aleksi Holma, Juuso Putti and Antti Myllynen after melodic Death Metal band Path Of Annihilation broke up. They started recording a first demo, Modern World Tyranny, which was finally released at the very end of Spring 2013, and the reactions were very positive in the band’s home country. The Hard Rock / Metal magazine Inferno even elected this demonstrational stuff as ‘demo of the month’, for what it’s worth.
