Dizziness / Lord Impaler / Hell Poemer

When Black Metal was born almost four decades ago (!), Greece was one of the protagonists, yet largely underestimated. Throughout the years, the Hellenic scene remained of high importance, but they never reached the same fame as, let’s say, the Scandinavian countries. Of course, there are some exceptions, but I am not going to come up with a list of ‘known’ (read: popular) band from out there. You know who they are…

Burial Mist

Burial Mist is a solo-project by a guy who calls himself Coffin Spirit (he recently joined Unholyath’s roster, as new bass player). The band is located in Novocherkassk, a city close to the Ukrainian border (not that far away from the Sea of Azov), formed in 2007. Throughout the years, there were several demos and EP’s, some compilations, two full lengths, and a couple of splits (with the likes of e.g. Solus, Sekhmet and Unholyath).

Black Metal is more than just Music.”

Black Command

Black Command are a (young) formation, hailing from the tropical shores of The Netherlands. The band was formed in 2012 by Morte Noire members, but I do not think we can consider Black Command as a side-project of Morte Noire.

Darkstorm

There was a Polish band called Darkstorm during the nineties, with a couple of demos that, back then, were quite appropriate to the scene. After the album / EP The Black Stone, however, the project ceased its activities. It was a pity, for there might have been a ‘future’ for this unholy horde. Apparently there was a return as Ravenlord Darkstorm (founding member Lord Darkstorm did not want to use the original moniker), yet that wasn’t but just a brief revival.

Styxian Industries

At the end of last decade, a new entity was born in the Netherlands: Styxian Industries. The aim was to destroy the last beliefs in mankind, and to brutally penetrate all organic structures by the post-apocalyptic industrial hammer (damn, I’m in a poetic mood tonight…). But seriously, this act created some stuff in between 2009 and 2010, with a highlight in 2012 by means of a split with Redreom, released via Total Death Records.
