Black Whispers

Black Whispers are a project from Costa Rica, formed in 2013 by José ‘S.S’ Fonseca, nowadays acting as JF or J.F. After a very limited split with Noldor, José recorded + released his debut under the Black Whispers moniker (Negative Ways Of Life) in early 2014 (Depressive Illusions Productions) with assistance of session musician Diego ‘Lwl’ Sanchez.

EdxKemper

Well, when you name your band after a pretty guy like Edmund Kemper, you probably do not need to expect songs of love and pink dreams. Edmund Kemper was, as you surely know, a Californian serial murderer, who dismembered his victims and who is accused as well for necrophilia and cannibalism. He committed his first murders at the age of fifteen (his grandparents), and after some years of collocation, he did at least eight facts in less than a year.

Vanad Varjud

I had not heard of Estonian act Vanad Varjud before, but deep investigation learned me that this trio released a first recording in 2014 (which was called Apooriad, done on tape). Back then they were a duo, existing through highly productive / active musicians Thon and Sorts; but in mean time they recruited a lead vocalist, Ott – this guy, by the way, did work with the other ones before as guest / session vocalist on some of the many other projects these guys are involved with.

Endlos

Endlos were formed in 2012 in the Lower Saxonian area (Germany) by Jörn ‘J’ Hermann and Carsten ‘C’ aka ‘Waldseel’. Both of them are quite active musicians, being involved with several other bands and projects, and with Endlos their productivity isn’t inferior either. There were several demos and EP’s, and a split with Winterblood, and now they come up with their first official full length album, Im Fallen Verlaufen.

Colemesis

Both Satanath Records and Symbol Of Domination Productions, respectively parent label and sub-label by my dear brother-in-arms Aleksey, have some connections within the Costa Rican Metal Mafia, I guess.

Ad Noctem Funeriis

Ad Noctem Funeriis (to my limited knowledge of the Latin language [sorry but I didn’t speak it anymore since about twenty centuries…] this moniker has been misspelled, but who cares about that) are an Italian act that contributed on a split with defunct Italian band Propaganda in 2008, and that released a first album in very early 2009 (…of Evil and Torment, via Salute Records). Then things went silent, but eventually the band entered the studio again in Winter 2014 in order to record their second full length album.

Poezd Rodina / Funeral Tears

Frozen Tranquillity is a collaboration in between two projects from Russia (one partly injected with human flesh from Ukrainian soil), which sees the light via, once again, an unholy marriage in between Metallic Media and Symbol Of Domination Productions. It brings three tracks by each participant, resulting in an experience that lasts for fifty four minutes. Here we go…

A.П.

I wasn’t quite enthusiastic with 2013’s MCD Temнъiй Kopидop Owибok, released on Satanath Records (the parent label of Symbol Of Domination Productions, on which this new effort gets released), but probably it has to do with my personal, subjective preferences, likes and disgusts. I am not such a Hardcore-fan, you see. But despite my personal disliking of that scene, my objective part of the game as being a reviewer did try to focus on the essence rather than personal favoritism.

Solis Occasum

Solis Occasum are a young outfit by Alexey ‘Barghest’ Denisov, whom you might know as well from Incipit Satan. With the Solis Occasum solo-project, Barghest recorded and released one album before, being Orthodox Plague, which was released in 2013 via the very small Ost Legia Productions label.

Chiral

Chiral is the name of a very young one-man band, but despite the very young age (the project began in early 2014), there were quite some releases in mean time (demos, singles and two splits). Amongst those, a demo called Abisso
