Oh my, has it actually been 2 ½ years since Alfred Mueller (the sole person behind this one-man Sympho-Prog Rock project) contacted us last, because of the release of his Unknown Realities alum (posted 13/06/2010, that review is still available in this website's “Archive” section, should you suddenly become interested in checking out the man's antecedents)?
Here's something novel: a Hard Rock band styled on British and American bands in the genre, coming from Istanbul, Turkey, where the band, today (sóme line-up changes did occur) consisting of lead singer Bullent Calli, guitarists Dost Akyildiz & Sherhan Akalin (the latter also performing backing vocals), bassist/ backing vocalist Ali Evcimen and drummer Ozkan Oral, was formed in 2008!
This Coln-based German band was founded in 2005, but has found so many changes happening to its line-up, that currently only female lead singer Jule is the only remaining member.
October Falls were once formed as an acoustic Folk-project by Mikko Lehto. The first releases were rather traditional / classical in approach, but throughout the years the project did introduce elements from Metal in general, and Black Pagan Metal more specifically.
The EP by this Seattle based quartet came to us accompanied only by a calling card with some contact info, and I regret to say that the websites mentioned didn't offer a lot of background on the band either.
If I got my info correct, this Arlington (Washington DC area) based Christian Metal quartet was put together by lead singer/ guitarist/ keyboardist Frank Clifton Herring, who sought out the correct people for two years prior to the Summer of 2008, when veteran bassist Roy Richardson completed the line-up then also already including lead guitarist Vlad Gurin and drummer Tim “TNT” Tieff.
Last time we came across this Antwerp based Belgian Thrash Metal band, was for the official release of their full-length album 3 Cheers For The Misery through UK label Casket Music/ Copro Records [review in Copro Records special – with bands An Ocean Between Us and Inner Fire – was posted 09/02/2012 only, in spite of the album having already been issued in the UK on Halloween 2011 (that's 31/10/2011), and can still be checked upon in this site's “Archive” section]...but that album was already rele
London-based female-fronted Hard Rock band Kill For Eden was founded in 2009 as Rhode Island Red by Lyla D'Souza (a Rock/ Soul singer-songwriter whom comes from Sydney, Australia, and has performed both over there, the UK, and Europe) and guitarist Dave Garfield (has lived in Amsterdam and Coln, recorded for the German affiliates of EMI and BMG, and gigged and recorded all over Europe playing many festivals and TV shows, supporting the likes of Joe Cocker,
Jello Biafra & the Guantanamo School of Medicine is a punk rock band led by (yes you guessed it) Jello Biafra. The band actually came into life when Iggy Pop had his 60th birthday party. And Jello liked what he saw and started planning his own birthday party and started a punk rock band.
Intronaut play crunch metal that sometimes borders on math metal with a doomy/sludgy and even fusion edge. There are some modern Tool/ Baroness elements in both music and vocals thrown in, giving the music an up-to-date and original sound. The music is guitar dominated and both guitarists deliver the goods. In fact the rhythm section is very strong and is complimented by Sacha’s screamo meets clear solid mid-ranged vocals.
