It’s hard to believe, but the original ‘Defenders Of The Faith’ album was released way back in 1984, that’s three decades ago.  I was still a teenager then….

To release the thirtieth anniversary, Sony Music now releases a remastered version of this album, that originally was released on EMI Music,  and adds two discs containing a live registration of a show Judas Priest played on May 5th 1984 at the Long Beach Arena in California.

It’s been a while since I last put the original album on, so I cannot tell if there is much difference between the original and the remastered version, but what I can tell you is that the songs themselves have not suffered the passing of the years.  They still sound great !

The addition of the double live album is nice.  It shows this band delivering a very good performance, and contains the ubiquitous tracks you’d have expected from this band, while the most tracks come of the ‘Defenders Of The Faith’ album.

If you happen not to own the original album, be it on CD or even on vinyl, this is the chance for you to get a copy of this album.
