CD REVIEW AFTER ALL
AFTER ALL: “The Vermin Breed” (Dockyard 1)

In the 2 years since this Belgian band's previous album "Mercury Rising" (released by Mausoleum) the band's music sure has toughened up somewhat. If in the past their tendency was more towards the oldschool kind of Metal (inclùding Bay Area Thrash), they're now geared somewhat completely into the Thrashing subgenre of that ass-kicking kind of music! Producer Harris Johns is also back in the spot, and he sure got the best performance out of the guys. The sound on the guitars is really fat and raw, and absolutely fitting to the new direction the guys have taken. Exception to the rule is the Doom Metal geared "Cascade", which is a great song nevertheless! At certain moments vocalist Piet Focroul could be a bit rougher perhaps, but his melodic style of singing is sure to keep the old fans interested. Why on earth did their previous label drop these guys?
