| SAMMATH: “Dodengang” (Folter Records – The LSP Company) |
|
To satisfy my lust for the sounds of the underground, I like to experience material that goes far beyond the average releases nowadays. Sammath is one of those ‘beings’ that can easily please both my mind and ears, just by expressing their vision of Life and Death. “Dodengang”, with duration of 46 minutes, stands for rough and primitive underground Black Metal with a raw sound and a tempo that varies from mid-tempo (even a little doomy from time to time) to up-tempo (with a few faster, exploding almost-blasting pieces). The evil songs may not be that technical or ingeniously well-thought, but the dark basics and nice performance give the album an almost orgiastic touch of blackened pleasure, yet with a funereal approach. Great Hellish material! 88/100 Ivan Tibos. |
