NECRODEATH: “100 % Hell” (Scarlet Records – Bertus) |
|
Necrodeath is one of the first bands from Italy that explored every ultimate boundary within Death / Thrash / Black Metal. They already started in 1984, playing blackened Thrash Metal in the vein of, for example, Possessed, Kreator and Sodom, and also after their ‘rebirth’ at the end of the nineties (they disappeared from the scene for a while during the nineties) they continued this path of old school inspired aggression and brutality. “100 % Hell” is the band’s sixth official full length studio album with duration of 39 minutes, featuring ex-Labyrinth / Odyssea / Athlantis guitar player Pier Gonella as new member (replacing ‘old’ member Claudio, who left for personal reasons). And luckily Pier’s influence and play has nothing to do at all with his former bands! “100 % Hell” stands for ‘typical’ Necrodeath-Metal, which means melodic, mostly fast and intense blackened Thrash Metal with several tempo-changes, a firm rhythm section, evil screams, aggressive riffs and an old school approach with a modern sound. Consider it a mixture of old style bands as Kreator, Destruction, Possessed, Sodom or Bulldozer with modern formations like At The Gates, The Haunted or Soilwork. Oh yes, there are guest vocals done by nobody else but Mister Cronos himself! 80/100 Ivan Tibos. |
