Band : The (International) Noise Conspiracy A forthnight prior to the actual release of The (International) Noise Conspiracy's new studio album (their 5th – they've also 2 full-length live albums and 12 singles and EPs) The Cross Of My Calling, the people at Burning Heart and Epitaph are clever enough to issue a single with the album track "The Assassination Of Myself" for promotional purposes through radio station throughout Europe. After the album's 2:08 intro (simply titled "Intro"), "The Assassination Of Myself" is in fact the album opening song, and perhaps that is why it was chosen to be the calling card for the full-length. Compared to the rest of the album...which could be typified as an early Seventies keyboard-drenched Classic Rock with influences from Prog, Blues, Jazz, and Proto-Punk..."The Assassination Of Myself" is rather a more straight-forward kinda song without any keyboards (but with a very prominent bass) at all! Not really typical for the album at all, although of course you can recognize the band in it! If you haven't heard it on the radio yet, you can go to myspace.com/internationalnoiseconspiracy to have a listening session (also put on-line off the new album is "I Am The Dynamite", which is somewhat closer to the album's overall sound). Single, so no rating (you'll have to wait a forthnight to get the album's review)! Tony. |
