Kivimetsan Druidi is another folk metal band with some epic from Finland. Their name means 'Druid of the stone forest'. The band started in 2002 and is becoming now the next sensation in symphonic metal. Their lyrics are based on a fantasy novel called 'The Land of the Crystal Mountain and Stone Forest'. The best song on their debut album “Shadowheart” is “Mustan Valtikan Aika”. Together with the beautiful vocalist Leeni-Maria the five other Nordic warriors have created an unmistakeable sound that's heavy and fast but without losing focus to the epic atmosphere with melancholic overtones. It marks a stunning amalgamation of Celtic folklore and vast extreme metal influences. The ten epic songs on this album have fantastic lyrics dealing with the everlasting battle between good and evil. The two driven men of this rock and troll band are the founding brothers Joni and Antti Koskinen. Joni is responsible for the guitar work and the growling vocals while Antti takes the backing vocals on his account together with the keyboards. It's nice to hear this surprisingly good symphonic fantasy folk metal.
