Band : Suspyre Album Title : When Time Fades... Label : Sensory Records Distributor : Suburban Records Release Date : 30/09/2008 Release : CD Suspyre is a New Jersey based progressive metal band. “When Time Fades…” is the title of their third full length album and the first single from that new album is called “Possession”, which is also the opening track of this album. Main composer Gregg Rossetti who also produced and engineered the entire album has more refined and developed the bands identity. The music grooves and has more metallic crunch and even demonstrates a broader range of musical styles. Of course you still can hear influences of Symphony X, Dream Theater and Rhapsody but the songs are more diverse. There is less obnoxious double bass. It is more about colors and sounds and groove, rather than in your face metal. The guitars are more down tuned and heavier riffs, rather than epic. For this new album the band is enhanced by addition of drummer Charlie Zeleny of Behold The Arctopus and a guest appearance by vocalist Trisha O'Keefe from Amaran's Plight. This third album is without a doubt the best so far. Besides the single there are other highlights such as “Siren” and “A World With No Measures”. It's time for this American band to conquer Europe. 78/100 Guido Claes. |
