Review: DVD + CD

Ten years after their birth, Letzte Instanz still might be one of the leading acts in the somewhat eccentric Folk scene, along projects as In Extremo and Subway To Sally, bands Letzte Instanz are often compared to. On March 2nd 2008, the band performed in the Lukaskirche, which was part of an acoustic project, and this performance was put on DVD. Together with Frau Schmitt (Subway To Sally), Leandra (Jesus On Extasy) and Anna Katharina Kränzlein (Schandmaul), the horde of L.I. did something pretty unique, and this acoustic set is simply refreshing. The sound and visual quality is high, and so is the performance. New and older tracks, all morphed into a semi-orchestral form of Rock-Art, that’s what this ‘gig’ stands for.

Weissgold also comes with a bonus-DVD, containing a live performance on Wacken Open Air (the 2007-edition), background information about the acoustic concert and the video clip for Wir Sind Allein.

Weissgold has a total duration of over five hours and is highly recommended to every L.I.-fan.
