Band: Krisiun Almost twenty years ago this band was spawn on Earth with just one goal: to create highly intense and powerful Death Metal hymns. And now they still do! My only ‘problem’ with this Brazilian trio is the lack of renewing their sonic attacks throughout the years, yet every album exhaled a purity indefinable. And again I cannot but admit: Southern Storm does not to renew all former Krisiun material. This is Krisiun-material in its best conditions, and believe me: this album is even a twice more innovative and well-thought than ever before. For the third time, the band (Alex Camargo-v&b, Max Kolesne-d, Moyses Kolesne-g) worked with Andy Classen, which results in an organic yet sardonic sound, clearly comparable with Krisiun’s former killer-release, AssassiNation. Extreme high-speed aggression and technical hyper-grind brutality are still the keywords in this story. Every song comes with a flaming fury and deadly precision, mercilessly slaughtering every last existence of human will. For the seventh time, Krisiun overpower themselves with an unstoppable groove, a nice equilibrium between blast and up-tempo, and unique hooks and riffing. Even the Sepultura-cover Refuse / Resist is more then acceptable. 84/100 Ivan Tibos. |
