“If” is the fourth studio album from the American elektro punk band Mindless Self Indulgence (commonly referred to as MSI). The four-piece band; composed of frontman Jimmy Urine (vocals and programming), guitar player Steve, Righ?, bass player Lyn-Z and drummer Kitty; was formed in 1997 in New York.

MSI have obtained a devout fanbase by mixing punk rock with electronic music, resulting in a hyperactive ADHD-sound with beeps and tones, influenced by the 80’s. The album contains 21 tracks (70 minutes playing time), including the following highlights: the opening track and present single “Never Wanted To Dance”, “Get It Up”, “Mastermind”, “Pay For It” and “Bomb This Track”. The European edition of “If” contains not only the two bonus tracks “Uncle” and “3s”, but also four remixes of “Never Wanted To Dance”.

The elektro punks of Mindless Self Indulgence will perform at the Pukkelpop festival in Hasselt, Belgium on August 15th 2008 and at the Lowlands festival in Biddinghuizen, Holland on August 16th 2008. Rumour is that MSI have a spectacular live act.

Oh yeah, some trivia from the gossip column: did you know that frontman Jimmy Urine is married to Chantal Claret, the leadsinger of the band Morningwood and that bass player Lyn-Z is married to My Chemical Romance singer Gerard Way?
