After releasing four studio albums the time was right for Soul Doctor to unleash a live album. The German rockers from Berlin have always unleashed rock steady music that is dependably solid and performed with precision. As live albums go Soul Doctor have put some thought into this release by ensuring that there are songs from all of their albums so far which gives the collection a nice flow. The performances were recorded in Europe during 2005 and 2007 and as a result of that we get some very slight differences in sound through some of the tracks. The set list includes many of the bands big songs like “Soul Doctor”, “Get It On” and “Good Times Slippin’ Away”. Each song is delivered with power and conviction and with some blues influences. There is always a place for bands that keep it simple and that’s what Soul Doctor do on this “That’s Live”. For the fans of Soul Doctor don’t have to expect any surprises and just expect the expected. For those music fans that are familiar with this band you can be sure of a right portion of simple hard rock.
