Band: Those Who Bring The Torture Those Who Bring The Torture, consisting of members who are also involved with bands as Ribspreader, God Among Insects, Demiurg, Paganizer, Knife In Christ, In Battle or Carve, to name a few, were formed last year, yet this is already the second inhuman, somewhat misanthropic full length, after the self-called debut (which was, by the way, released by the German (NS)BM label No Colours !). The band entered the Enhanced Studio (formerly known as Septic Sound), where bands as Paganizer, Ribspreader and Ghamorean did work before and the result, lasting for forty minutes, may be considered one of the most brutal releases from 2008 up till now! Tank Gasmask Ammo stands for an ugly form of grinding old school Death Metal with a filthy sound, raw and dirty compositions and a fistf*cking thrashy performance. This massive yet groovy album is just colossal and gargantuan (in fact just like most of the members’ other musical eruptions), yet it is more varying (read: more progressive, more technical) than the 2007-debut. Tank Gasmask Ammo reminds me the most to Aborted, yet of course with a somewhat Swedish-influenced approach. This album not only may be one of the most brutal releases this year, in my opinion it is also the best Grind / Death-release in 2008 to date. 84/100 Ivan Tibos. |
