Band : Paul Gilbert Album Title : Silence Followed By A Deafening Roar Label : Mascot Records Distributor : PIAS Release Date : 21/11/2008 Release : DVD The DVD "Silence Followed By A Deafening Roar" is the second full length instrumental album and eighth overall by heavy metal guitar virtuoso Paul Gilbert. Paul Gilbert is one of the best guitar players of our generation and he has proven his abilities by contributing top notch melodies and solos in bands like Mr. Big and Racer X. The DVD also includes special sections on arpeggios, picking phrasing and legato techniques that Gilbert is fluent at. The way that Paul Gilbert is explaining his techniques is so cool and amazing. It’s very easy for every guitar player with a little knowledge of the six-string to keep up and try his best. The DVD also includes a detailed "Shred Annex" of Paul’s favourite and fastest new licks that once again he demonstrates with excellent precision. It seems sometimes so easy that you want to play guitar yourself. The DVD also contains a rare concert footage from the “Space Ship Tour”, the Seoul gig and of course the amazing DVD intro credits where Paul Gilbert is dressed as a Samurai with his outfit and attitude walking the mountains of Japan with a guitar on his back instead of a katana sword. The only missing track on this DVD is the awesome cover of Elvis Costello’s "I Still Have That Other Girl". But that doesn’t influenced the rest of this nice DVD to watch. 75/100 Guido Claes. |
