If there's one band that hit the metal scene hard with their debut album it's the young fellows of Bullet For My Valentine. With ‘the Poison' the really pushed it to the maximum. They had the change to open up for Metallica , Iron Maiden and Guns N Roses. That's what we call a statement. Now, two years later their back with the follow up ‘Scream Aim Fire'. The nerves where tensed and they knew it had to be bingo once again from the first note. That's what they pulled of by putting the title track first. It's huge, and even that is an understatement. Front man Matt Tucker seems to have recovered very good after his voice problems of last year, he even needed an operation. Another strong point is that BFMV doesn't give a shit about trend. They do as they please. There for you can hear a big influence of the 80 glam rock. A song like ‘Hearts Burst into fire' reminds us of Mötley Crüe and even Def Leppard . To bad that after a few tunes the quality goes down hill. ‘Waking The Demon' still sound great but from than on it starting to sound average. The ballade ‘Say Goodnight' sounds cool but doesn't give us goose bumps like a real ballad should. That doesn't mean this is a bad album, there's more junk out right now than this one. The band is already on tour and will be for a long time. Maybe they went a bit to fast and hopefully they will make it up to us in a few years when they come up with a killer 3 rd record.
