Band : Airbourne After the several tribulations of finally getting Airbourne’s Runnin’ Wild album (for my own review of that album and the two earlier singles taken off it, check the reviews section in February, March, and April) out in our area earlier this year (to be quite frank, I’ve lost track of when exactly the record saw its street date in the Benelux), here’s actually a bonus for all those who’ve been reluctant of ordering it via import from either the US, UK, or Germany (where the album had been available since late last year) or even Australia...and then grew reluctant of waiting and “forgot” to get themselves the album when it actualy came out here! Why’s that? Well, simply because of the bonus features you’re getting with this special edition in the form of a DVD! A DVD not only comprising a 44:40 video recording of the band’s appearance at this year’s Wacken Open Air festival (the band playing the songs “Hellfire”, “Fat City”, “What’s Eating You”, “Girls In Black”, “Cheap Wine & Cheaper Women”, “Heartbreaker”, “Blackjack”, and “Runnin’ Wild”), and their video clips for the “Runnin’ Wild”, “Too Much, Too Young, To Fast”, and the third in the row...”Diamond In The Rough”...a one-track single of which is now simultaneously issued for radio promotion! If you haven’t had the chance to see the video clips yet, be sure to check out the driver of the truck during “Runnin’ Wild” (or maybe I’d best tell you in advance that it’s Motörhead’s Lemmy?). The main reason for this special edition of the album, is of course the fact that Airbourne started a new European tour in late October. Starting off in the UK (where they’ll be until November 30th) before coming over to continental Europe with dates in France (4 venues), Spain, Italy, Switzerland, Austria, Sweden (3 venues), Norway, and Denmark, before rounding things off with a full German tour (10 venues) running up to December 29! Belgium’s left aside this time around, but seen the poor success of the band’s gig earlier this year (which was moved to a smaller venue due to bad pre-sales), who can blame ‘em? Do I need to rate this album all over again? Just check the originalreview, will you? Tony. |
