Review : CD

Let me say it straight out, this album is not metal, it has nothing to do with metal and any of you expecting a metal album should look elsewhere.El Festival De Los Viajes certainly won't be for everyone, but if you are interested in experiencing some truly 'out there' psychedelic, gaucho pampa rock, then this first one from members of Dragonauta, Poseidotica, ect is sure to push plenty of the right buttons for you.

“Illusorio” and the galloping “El nagual” elicits in me images of Sergio Leone westerns; grim, haunting, and unique. The percussion, whether driving or subtle, offers hypnotic catchiness. “Cegador” has some nice twangy guitar lines and ethereal male vocals that caught my ear. “Conjuro de los matados” has a special quality to it that brings a kind of soaring feeling to the music and a feeling of being lifted off the ground. “Paraiso” and “Exodo” are masterfully composed with very intricate six string work and deep harmonic vocal arrangements.

This is an album that simply must be experienced to be enjoyed through and through. The experience of listening to it will probably be different than mine but it’s a journey worth taking.
