The progressive French sextet We Insist! have achieved something rare with their third album “ Oh! Things Are So Corruptible ” . They've managed to stake out a sound and style that's all their own. It's challenging, provocative and wilfully obscure. High-precision drumming, clean untreated guitar and bass tones, occasionally distorted but more often relying on inventive melody and rhythm delivers an authentic heaviness. Vocalist and drummer Etienne Gaillochet has the ability to play those drum patterns and sing at the same time. He even reach the standards of James Maynard Keenan of Tool in the song “ No Coward ”. It's almost cinematic storytelling in musical form. It's a very odd album with jazz influences but there's more than enough riffs to keep rock and even metal fans inclined. With other influences ranging from Queens Of The Stone Age to System Of A Down , Tool and Primus , this band is very unique. We Insist! is an exploration of exploring a weird and wonderful aural landscape. I t's a musical adventure with twelve so diverse songs and a few high lights such as “ The Great Disorder ” and “ Down To The Cellar ”. This new album “ Oh! Things Are So Corruptible ” is   powerful and strong. It's an amazing experience that easily gets the label “highly recommended”.
