Band : Bryan Adams Album title : 11 Label : Badman Limited - Polydor Distributor : Universal Release date : April 2008 Release : CD 11 tracks on his 11 th studio album, it really needs no rocket science genius to get where this Canadian artist got the title for his latest recording! Bryan Adams has been a steady personality to deal with when we're talking about Romantic Soft Rock. With a career that spans more than 28 years (his self-titled debut was released in 1980) he's sold literally millions of some of his albums worldwide...and the guy is still a wanted act on stadions the world around. He even got through the whole Grunge period of the ninetees without any harm, never even thinking about changing his style to accomodate the generally ruling musical mood! And why should he indeed, when nothing was ever wrong with the formula in the first place? The guy even still works with some of the people of his beginning days ( Jim Vallance who co-produced the albums throughout the '80s is found playing the drums on one track; original drummer Mickey Curry plays on 4 other songs). The new album very much continues in the old vein. It took Bryan long enough to finish the album, by the way, as basic recordings were already done in a room of a Dublin hotel in May of 2005 (for the fiddle played on the song "Mysterious Ways" by one Maire Breathnach , who gets to come back playing viola on album closer "Walk On By ", a song which also gets additional string inclusions), the finishing touch brought in December of 2007! You know something, back in the days girls would go dizzy in front of the stage whenever and wherever this sympathetic Canadian went to play his songs, and I suppose even today a lot of young girls may swoon to the man's tunes. It's outside the realm of my aspirations (I'm a convinced bachelor, thank you!), but I can recommend any guy out there wanting to woo his girlfriend to make her a candlelight dinner and have Adams ' music playing in the background...possible romantic success almost guaranteed! And...there's no age on feeling romantic, you know! In fact, when my editor-in-chief's mother saw this album laying on his desc, she simply couldn't resist swiping it away for a couple of weeks. Aah, those wonderful feeling of butterfies in your belly!!! 90/100 Band : Tony |
