Band: Demetra Sine Die Title: Council From Kaos Label: My Kingdom Music Distribution: Sonic Rendezvous Release date: 07/03/2008 Review: CD In 2003, Marco Paddeu and Marcello Fattore decided to join forces, based on their common interest for, and experience in, dark Rock Music. Demetra Sine Die was born. In 2004 they recorded a demo tape, that was pretty well received in the Italian underground scene, yet it took until 2006 they did ‘grow'. After bass player Adriano Magliocco entered, they were able to perform with huge names as Theatre Of Tragedy, which did ‘boost' their career. As from this moment, the band was characterised by a fierce symbiosis of decadence and atmosphere. The open-minded combination of progressive elements, eighties / nineties Rock, alternative Metal and Post-Rock gets translated in the band's debut full length studio album, Council From Kaos . The mixture of ‘melodic', ‘haunting', ‘dark' and ‘psychedelic' isn't that easy to digest, and the whole may give you a somewhat unnatural and uncomfortable feeling. This is well-thought avant-garde creativity based on what bands as Tool , Isis , Katatonia , Porcupine Tree, Green Carnation, Pelican and the later Anathema also stand for, I guess. Tommy Talamanca (Sadist), who did also take care of the keyboard parts on the album, was responsible for the production, mix and mastering of Council From Kaos, by the way. 79/100 Ivan Tibos .
