Having reviewed SOD 's previous demo (2007's Reap What You Sow , posted 08/07/2007) with an elaborate history-of-the-band, I meraly need to give yu an update of what happened since, so here goes...

In June (2007) the band gives a very successful gig at La Fiesta Du Rock , but soon after bassist Seb leaves to be replaced by Arnaud (more affectianally named " Nono "), and the new line-up debuts at the first edition of Hell-Metal Summer Fest , opening for Oceans Of Sadness and Lyzanxia . During August and September, the band finalize recordings for their first full-length Before Our Eyes . In October, they get their first local TV interview, and their 2 nd radio interview (for the Rock Your Brain show). Thanks to the Ca Balance Pas Mal society, they also record a brandnew song titled "A New Beginning" at La Chapelle Studios with former Scorpions man Rudy Lenners as artistic director. On December 15 th the band wins the famous (at least in the French talking part of our country) Concours Circuit finals, then go to the Rock Show on Pure FM for their first nationwide radio show. In January 2008, Suicide Of Demons makes a very strong impression with their appearnce at the sold-out first edition of the Memento Mori Fest , and they finally get their first feature in a "major" magazine with an interview in the February edition of French Hardcork Magazine (also featuring with their song "Hurt To Kill" on the covermount compilation album that goes with that issue of the 'zine).

All this leads to the band's 2 nd demo completely selling out in the 10 monts since being released in March ' 07. A limited edition 2-track single with new tracks off the upcoming album, released in December '07, was sold out within the month that followed. In other words: SOD are up and coming, and you'd better know it! In attendance of that upcoming 10-track album, the band already sent us a 3-track promo with the Reap What You Sow tracks "Hurt To Kill" , "New Death Camp" , and new song "Before Our Eyes" . As you know, the vocals and bass on the previous demo were still done by NoHell , and it seems to me that the band have left the recordings as was! Seems a bit weird to keep the original recordings then, eh?, but most probably the band needed more studio time (and cash, because you can't dispose of studio time unless you put down the bread on the table...or make use of your own studio...which again takes money to acquire) to make the changes. I have to say that Chris ' singing is quite similar...at least, for as far as I've been able to determine from the one new track, and I suppose the band feels confident enough to reproduce their sound on stage!

Meanwhile, you already know I feel this Charleroi based band is one of thé acts to watch in the Belgian Thrash/ Death scene...and I feaverishly hope they dó send us their complete album for review when it gets finished. Of course, on the other hand I also hope the promo will get them the deal they've been looking for to sign...whole-heartedly, even if that means we have to wait a little longer before the album's release.
