Miseration is a brutal expression of two minds that did already prove their skills before: Jani Stefanovic from DivineFire / Sins Of Omission / Essence Of Sorrow / Mehida / Crimson Moonlight / … fame, and Christian Älvestam, known from e.g. TorchBearer, Solar Dawn, Scar Symmetry, Incapacity and Unmoored. They recorded Your Demons - Their Angels at the Serenity and the Panic Room Studios with mixing and mastering assistance of Plec (Crimson Moonlight, Slumber). The album stands for fast and ruthless Death Metal with, evidently, a clear Swedish approach (Edge Of Sanity, Bloodbath, Demiurg, Hypocrisy etc), yet also elements from the American scene (think Suffocation, Hate Eternal or Depths Of Agony). The interesting part is that Miseration also adds elements that are pretty unforeseen: a few melodic vocal parts (besides excellent varying grunts!), atmospheric parts (including several keyboards) and several slightly progressive melody- and tempo-changes. Both blasting parts and slower ones are of a very high musical quality and not one single moment this master piece bores. Christian and Jani have created the best thing they ever did, I guess (except for Incapacity and TorchBearer, possibly). For your information: in mean time, the duo recruited three members for live performances and future recordings. The current line-up is: Christian (v) and Jani (g), Rolf Pilve (d), Marcus Bertillson (g) and former Crimson Moonlight-colleague Johan Ylenstrand (b).
