CD REVIEW Open The Skies

Band: Open The Skies
Title: Conspiracies
Label: Rising Records
Distribution: Gordeon Music Promotion
Release date: September 2008
Review: CD

The UK-formation Open The Skies did enter the Red House Farm and the Thin Ice Studios with Karl Groom (Trigger The Bloodshed) and Rising Records owner Mark Daghorn (Nex, Trigger The Bloodshed, Early Grave, Soundshok) for the recording of Conspiracies. Conspiracies, which lasts for almost fifty minutes, combines so-called Post-Hardcore with Screamo and Emo. The melodic Rock songs are mainly based on technical Metal-riffs, a little thrashy from time to time, and a melodic, supporting rhythm section, added with varied vocals. The latter are mostly melodic, with several screams and growls in between, and a few harmonious choirs. The melodies do vary, and the same goes for the tempo. And the band also includes acoustic elements and Metalcore-ish influences. Apparently recommended to fans of Heart Shed, Before Their Eyes, Mozart Season and Worthless Without???
