Band : Weezer “Weezer” is the sixth studio album from the American alternative rock band Weezer. The band around singer/guitar player Rivers Cuomo was formed in 1992 in Los Angeles and since then sold already more than six million records. From those six albums, this is the third album with the title “Weezer”. The first self-titled album is also known as the blue album, the second as the green album and this third one as the red album. This is the first Weezer album to feature lead vocals from all band members and for the first time since their debut album, other members of the band contributed songwriting as well. Like all their other albums, Weezer managed once again to come up with cheerful choruses, catchy tunes and funny lyrics. These are the ingredients they got so praised for and which allowed them to gain success. “Weezer” was produced by famous names as Rick Rubin and Jacknife Lee and contains 11 songs with a playing time 46 minutes. Highlights are the first single "Pork And Beans", the second single “Troublemaker”, “The Greatest Man That Ever Lived”, "Everybody Get Dangerous", “Dreamin’”, “Automatic” and “The Angel And The One”. As a bonus track, “The Weight”, a cover from The Band is included. And when is Weezer planning a European tour? That’s truly a good question. 80/100 Erik. |
