Band : Fall Out Boy Album Title :Live In Phoenix Label : Island Records Distribution : Universal Release date :May 2008 Review : CD “Live In Phoenix” is the first concert CD from the American emo pop punk band Fall Out Boy. The four-piece band around singer and primary composer Patrick Stump and bass player and primary lyricist Pete Wentz was formed in 2001 in Chicago. Fall Out Boy provides us a mixture of emo and pop punk elements, which can be situated in the same corner as their good friends Panic! At The Disco. Very distinctive for the sound of Fall Out Boy is the remarkable vocal range of singer Patrick Stump, whose soulful high sung melodic notes don’t leave anyone indifferent, emo at its best. “Live In Phoenix” was recorded live on June 22 nd 2007 at the Cricket Pavillion in Phoenix, Arizona and has no obvious overdubs. It is an honest live recording with many sing-along parts by the enthusiastic teenage crowd. The live album follows after the Award-winning million-sellers “From Under The Cork Tree” (2005) and “Infinity On High” (2007). The album contains 15 tracks (52 minutes playing time), including the following highlights: the opening track “Thriller” which is preceded by an intro, “Sugar, We’re Goin Down”, “I’m Like A Lawyer, The Way I’m Always Trying To Get You Off ( Me&You)” , “A Little Less Sixteen Candles, A Little More ‘Touch Me’”, a cover version of Michael Jackson’s “Beat It”, “This Ain’t A Scene, It’s An Arms Race”, “ Thnks Fr Th Mmrs” ,“The Take Over, The Breaks Over”, “Dance, Dance” and “Saturday”. There is also a DVD available from this concert, with seven more live tracks from the same concert in Phoenix, additional behind the scenes footage and eight of the most recent music videos from Fall Out Boy. 75/100 Erik. |
