This American metal band Imagika was formed in late 1993 by guitarist Steven D. Rice and vocalist David Michael with the intention of playing music that was free of trends and would remain timeless. Taking their influences from the Bay Area Thrash scene and mixing it with their love for classic band like Judas Priest, Iron Maiden and Mercyful Fate. Today, it still does quite well for itself in that market and Imagika are amongst one of the better contributions to a scene once again buzzing. Fans of Judas Priest, Forbidden, Exodus and Anthrax can't afford to simply ignore this group and definitely not this album. The hooks and the dynamics are all used and abused in the right places and as almost always, it shows. This superbly produced album shows their mature eighties metal with a heavy sound. Each song although seems a little bit the same with screaming vocals, rolling bass drums and very flashy guitar solo's but you can hear definitely some trash in “Waking A Dead Man”, some power metal in the title song “Feast For The Hated” and melodic parts in the last song “Succubus”. As the market for this sort of metal breaths stronger with its continuing revival, it can only be said there is place for a band as Imagika.
