“Take It To The Limit” is the second studio album of the American post-grunge band Hinder, a fivesome from Oklahoma that formed in 2001.
This new album is the follow-up to the 3x platinum debut album “Extreme Behavior”, which featured the splendid ballad hit single “Lips Of An Angel”.
The band can be categorised as a post-grunge band, but they have a strong glam metal side to their music. The fact that Hinder consider “sex, drugs and rock & roll” as a way of life to which they refer almost all of the time in their lyrics, certainly has something to do with that. And they are even good at it, because the sleazy sound of Hinder is really sparkling.
Very distinctive for Hinder are the soaring rock vocals of frontman and singer Austin Winkler, who reminds me of a younger version of Aerosmith singer Steven Tyler.
“Take It To The Limit” contains 11 songs and has a playing time of 41 minutes.
Highlights are the opening track and first single "Use Me", "Loaded And Alone", “Last Kiss Goodbye”, the superb ballad and second single “Without You”, the title track “Take It To The Limit” (with a guest appearance by guitar player Mick Mars from Mötley Crüe), the magnificent power ballad "Heaven Sent", "Thing For You" and “Lost In The Sun”.
Hinder are part of Mötley Crüe’s “Saints Of Los Angeles Tour” in February and March 2009 playing live all around the USA, but there are no European dates confirmed yet.
