Band : Adam West Weep, lovers of Adam West music, because the Washington DC band is going to quit come the end of this year! After a total of 19 singles (one of which is still upcoming; the first of which appearing already back in 1993), split singles (3 of which still coming up), numerous compilation album particitations, one 10-inch, 10 full-length albums (3 of which actually compilations of non-album material), and 17 years running time during which they did numerous mini-tours of the US and no less than full tours of Europe, singer Jake Starr, guitarist Mario Trubiano, bassist Steve and drummer Jim Sciubba are putting Adam West to rest! Well, not quite completely...as the members will continue with their respective projects/ bands: Steve has a coùple of projects, including his band Borracho with guitarist Mario Trubiano (whom will also continue with his own band Assrockers...and the drummer will continue with his other band Channel 43. The singer will be releasing a solo single on Swedish imprint Bootleg Booze Records early next year, but has no plans yet to form a new band. In his own words, "I'll just jump up on stage with other bands and scream along to a cover song occasionally...whether I'm invited or not!"!!! But Adam West will be goin' out with a blast on their final European tour, scheduled for October. Regretfully, the band will only be coming to Germany, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, Spain and Portugal...so if you wanna see your favourite Dirty Rock 'n' Roll band for a last time, check out the band's MySpace page for the venue closest to your homestead! Following the European tour, they'll be playing their final show in their home town on November 8, and that'll be it! If you can't make it to any of those final shows, you'll at least have the solace in this final studio album! And perhaps you can start to complete your collection of the band, you know? For a complete list, check out fandangorecords.com/adamwest/discog.htm (no "www." needed up front). Adam West have always been one of those bands which could enthrall listeners of their albums from start to finish...with each new release...thanks to the charismatic singer, nice gritty guitar works with attention for some truly good solos and the occasional different pedal effect! If you're into rough 'n' raw Garage Rock with a Punk attitude (the sound is a mix of '60s Garage Rock, Stoner, and '60 Garage Punk) but never heard material by this fine raw Rock act before, you need to check out what's still available on People Like You. Luckily, the label's released the band's albums since 2001, which means you still may have a chance on getting a copy of some of their CDs! By the way, some of those albums were also available on vinyl, but I ain't sure if you'll still be able to get a copy of thàt. Anyway, listen to a couple of the band's songs (only the one off the new album, but the three other songs are equally as representative) at myspace.com/adamwestrocks. More material, mùch more, can be heard at last.fm (enter "adam west last.fm" at google and you get the link at the top of the page), where you can listen to edit samples of the complete albums Right On! (2001), God's Gift To Women (2003), and compilations Hi-Balls Are Rolling! 1999-2001 (2004) and (most of) Ready Steady Adam West! 1993-1999 (2002). There's even some 6 videos for you to view! 85/100 Tony. |
