Band : Nine Pound Hammer Album Title : Sex, Drugs & Bill Monroe Label : Buzzville Records Distributor : Suburban Records Release Date : 03/06/2008 Release : CD Blaine Cartwright, lead singer of Nashville Pussy, has founded some time to write new material for his side project Nine Pound Hammer that started three years ago with the critically acclaimed album “Kentucky Breakdown“. This new album contains fourteen anthems including a rousing cover of “Black Sheep“ by John Anderson. Known for their steamroller brand of buzz guitar country punk and energetic live shows, these hellacious garage rock shit lovers like it definitely very loud and dirty. Besides Cartwright who plays the guitar and also some vocals on this album you have the razor throated lead songs by Scott Luallen. It has taken a while to come up with some new stuff and it sounds therefore very raw and full of angry. It's an album for lovers of powerful country rock. Three years ago a couple of their songs were used in television series and movies. There version of Golden Earring's “Radar Love“ was a smash hit and “Friends“ actor David Schwimmer used “Run Fatboy Run“ in his movie with the same title. 65/100 Guido Claes. |
