Valient Thorr can be seen as a classic seventies band with influences of Black Sabbath and Thin Lizzy. With their fourth album this American beard band likes to be obscure with heavy guitars and some funky thythms. This new album was produced by Jack Endino known for his previous work with bands like Nirvana, Soundgarden and Mudhoney. The sounds is really brilliant with songs packaged in a groovy seventies style such as “Tomorrow Police” that adds an AC/DC like guitar riff. As an intermezzo the band brings an acoustic song “Vernal Equinox” that turns into a sturdy rocking song “1000 Winters In A Row”. The fastest track on this rocking album is the edgy “Red Flag” with obvious punk influences. “Immortalizer” is the fourth album from a band that tours a lot. The band was already on the road with band with a same musical style such as Motorhead, Fu Manchu or The Eagles Of Death Metal. For those who like quality hard rock with obvious seventies influences this is the album you have to listen too.
