Band: In Flames Alias is a track from the newest In Flames-album A Sense Of Purpose, recorded at the band’s studio. The production was done by the band itself, together with Roberto Laghi (Transport League, The Provenance, B-Thong, Hardcore Superstar, etc) and Daniel Bergstrand (Meshuggah, Defleshed, Darkane, Thyrfing and many others), and the album, which also includes Alias, was taken care of at Skip Sailor Recordings with Toby Wright (Soulfly, Fear Factory, Korn, Metallica, Alice In Chains). The quintet (Björn Gelotte-g, Anders Fridén-v, Jesper Strömblad-g, Daniel Svensson-d and Peter Iwers-g) was assisted by Örjan Örnkloo (keys and programming). Alias is a varying track and I think it’s much better than the former ‘single’, The Mirror’s Truth, which was released with four bonus-tracks a few months ago. It certainly isn’t the heaviest track from A Sense Of Purpose, but one of the most convincing ones. It might sound somewhat catchy and the overall tempo is pretty slow, and besides several tempo- and melody-changes, Alias, or at least this radio / club-version, the song also contains a nice acoustic intermezzo. --/100 Ivan Tibos. |
