“Gotta Be Somebody” is the first single (with 3:59 minutes playing time) from the upcoming new album “Dark Horse” that the Canadian post-grunge band Nickelback will release on November 17th 2008.
Originally, “If Today Was Your Last Day” was going to be the first single, but it was scrapped because it was “dynamically swelling”, whatever that might be.
Nickelback worked together with the famous producer Mutt Lange (for instance AC/DC, Bryan Adams, Def Leppard, Foreigner, The Corrs) for their sixth album, which will no doubt be another big success in the USA and Canada.
Nothing new under the sun, the typical ingredients of Nickelback are present once again: the swelling voice of Chad Kroeger, the dynamic instrumentation and the appealing lyrics with a sing-along refrain. The trick still works for Nickelback.
