CD REVIEW Snatchclub

Band: Snatchclub
Title: True Kids Superbrawl
Label: Bastardized Recordings
Distribution: Suburban
Release date: 31/10/2008
Review: MCD

After their former band Elephant Man split up recently, the members decided to continue under the moniker Snatchclub. Very soon after, the quintet recorded a successful demo tape and they did perform live all over Germany (e.g. with Six Reasons To Kill and Waking The Cadaver). Recently, Snatchclub entered the Daily Hero Studio (War From A Harlots Mouth, Final Prayer) with producers Florian Nowak and Mark Ebers. The result is called True Kids Superbrawl and lasts for almost half an hour, including the hidden bonus track (which I think is the best song on the album, by the way). This skull-crusher and flesh-mincing explosion combines slow-paced old school-oriented Death Metal with splattering and gore Grindcore. The songs contain the predictable ingredients: extreme tempo-changes, a groovy rhythm, raw duo-vocals, technical riffs and a moshing production. In the case of this band, the lack of having an own face might be lethal, because I’m afraid the eleven songs aren’t as striking as needed to keep the listener’s attention whole the time. You might have heard it all before, probably, and that’s sad, because True Kids Superbrawl isn’t that bad at all. Probably only for the hardcore Grind/Death-freak.

70/100
