Band: Sylosis After two mini-albums, both released through In At The Deep End Records (resp. 2006 and 2007), Conclusion Of An Age is the next studio recording, lasting for almost an hour. And what can I say about this mixture of Metalcore and Thrash Metal? It has both positive and negative elements. The negative ones have to do with the total lack of having an own face. Even though this band sounds very fresh / refreshing, there is a complete lack of originality. This makes that several parts and passages are pretty predictable, I’m afraid. Also the over-decent, modern-clean sound is too easy. This makes the whole sound too sterile, unfortunately. Positive elements are the variation (tempo-changes and a few unusual breaks and hooks), the additional Death Metal elements (some riffs, some composition parts) and the strong members’ performance and skills. Alors c’est votre choix… 78/100 Ivan Tibos. |
