The heathen American metal band Hauk released their new EP “To Hear the Trumpets Call”. The EP contains two brand new songs, a re-recorded metal version of the classic “Lamentation” and a stunning remix of “Raven Wings”. This EP is a really perfect combination of music and heathen spirituality. Every song on this album has heathen anthem written all over it. All songs are unrestrained about the impending victory of the gods and their people at Ragnarok. Nothing was held back while recording this stuff. The band just went into the studio and made the music they wanted to make. The arrangements were stripped down, sticking with just the live band. They’ve put no extra fiddles or flutes in these songs. Their sound is based on just pure guitars, drums and keyboards. In the end, they’ve accomplished the soundtrack to Ragnarok. It’s obvious that this band is preparing their first full length album and so far they have the solid ground to go for it. Meanwhile we must do it with a short EP that’s promising.
