Review : CD

Blind Ravage was formed in Laval, a suburb of Montreal, Quebec, during the autumn of 1969. At first they performed cover material from Spencer Davis, Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin, Rod Stewart and other artists. By mid 1970 they began performing several original songs in its set and the following of fans steadily grows. In 1971 the band finally went into the studio and began to track its original compositions plus one cover “Susie-Q” . On a small budget the band recorded, mastered and pressed its music on LP without any overdubs. Although the biggest local radio station played the single “Loser/My life” over and over and labels were expressing their interest there wasn't still not enough interest in the music of Blind Ravage. So the band broke up in 1973 and the self-released album became a rare item.(up to 300 dollars).

And now you may ask how they are sounding? It's melodic, hooky, even tasteful bluesy hard rock. A few songs verge on good power pop and none of them are bogged down by slow paces or tedious soloing. If you're into 70's underground hardrock acts, I give the advice to check out Blind Ravage, it's well worth.
