Architect Of Lies is the fifth full-length studio album from the Danish power metal band Mercenary. The six-piece metal band was formed in 1991 in Aalborg, Denmark, and won a Danish Metal Award in the category ‘album of the year' with their previous album The Hours That Remain (2006).

Mercenary provides us a mixture of melodic and dark elements. You could call it a sophisticated blend of power metal guitar work with atmospheric keyboards, completed by two vocalists (soaring clean vocals by singer Mikkel Sandager and death growls by bass player René Pedersen, who replaced founding member Henrik “Kral” Andersen who left the band in March 2006). The album contains 10 tracks (52 minutes playing time), including the following highlights: the opening track “New Desire”, “Embrace The Nothing”, “This Black And Endless Never”, “The Endless Fall”, “I Am Lies” and “Public Failure Number One”.

A limited edition of the album will include the bonus song “Death Connection” and bonus DVD with 9 live tracks and studio report. Mercenary will perform as support act on the European tour of Death Angel in April 2008 in Europe, with for instance a date at the Biebob in Vosselaar ( Belgium ) on April 6 th 2008.
