Band : Oceana Company Title album : Oceana Company Record label : Self Release Distribution : Release date : March 2008 Review : Promo What can I say? Oceana Company isn't a bad three tracks of music. It can be summed up relatively well by the term melancholic psych stoner rock. The most frequent and relevant reference points I can find for the music on this promo is Masters Of Reality, Queens Of The Stoneage, Motorpsycho and Riverside. Dutch newcomers Oceana Company who have backgrounds in bands like Elephantum, The Black Atlantic and Stone In Egypt have released this as a taster for their upcoming full-length, For The Boatman. It's unknown whether “Trenchfever”, “Freedom of mind” and “After the crash” contain the final product, or whether this will be subject to further mixing. Overall, OC are at a stage where they are competent as a band, able to create good tunes and reasonably entertaining songs, and now need to excel a bit more as far as really capturing the listener. In any case, if you want to know more about this release or their forthcoming debut album write to oceanacompany@gmail.com or check out www.oceanacompany.com Cosmicmasseur. |
