Review : CD

Appealing laidback hippie folkrock with 3-4 minute tunes and a Syd Barrett vibe. Of course it's an atmospheric and at times rather emotional CD, as it was meant to be. Emotional and melancholy it is, but certainly not in a negative, depressing way.

Songwriting is good, and the vocals relaxed and soulful. This one-man setting is acoustic guitars, drums, bass, tambourine, maracass, darbuga, piano, clockwork, african finger piano,...   and occasional sound effects, while one atypical 8-minute rocker has shrieking fuzz-leads. The overall picture is rounded off by Jaire's notedly beautiful singing and his instrumental accompaniment which is, thanks to the skilful arrangements, highly effective without being needlessly complicated.

Folk album for all those of you who enjoy beautiful, enchanting, gentle music.
