Review : CD

“Stay Classy” is the debut full length album from the American southern metal band The Hottness (with two T’s). The five-piece hard rock/punk/southern metal band hails from Wilmington, North Carolina.

The Hottness provides driving guitar riffs, thick breakdowns, southern style hooks with a punk influence and the mixture of melodic vocals with bloodthirsty screams. This approach is almost unique in its genre, is catchy as hell, is memorable for more than one hot minute, is ferocious like a stinging bee and contains a lot of youthful energy.

References are for instance Every Time I Die, Atreyu and He Is Legend.

The album contains 10 tracks (39 minutes playing time), including the following highlights: the opening track “Straight Brown” , “Dearly Departed”, “Still Standing”, “The Ghost” , “Trashy”, “King Of Thieves” and “She’s A riot”. There is also a hidden track at the end of the album.
By the way, great intro to start the album: you hear a guy taking a piss, he then flushes the toilet and you hear the distortion sound of a guitar coming from around the corner and the first song hits off. Way to go for a solid first impression.

I can’t wait to experience The Hottness live on stage.

90/100
