Rosematter is a female-fronted pop-punk band with nice song titles such as “Chuck Norris Jokes Aren't Funny Anymore", "Anyone Who Hates John Hinckley Doesn't Understand True Love" or even the lovable Jewish song "Pull a Fievel and Go West". But besides the funny titles this album “Shooter's Gonna Choke” is a mixture of endearing pop-punk and some variety of only moderately weighted emo songs. Rosematter delivers more than the standard three-chord punk such as The Ramones and they even dare to use multi-part structures and an impressive command of songwriting. The best song on this album is a track with a title that’s almost as long as the song itself “Being Brave Usually Means Having Your Adult Teeth Knocked Out”.  The voice of Katie Kolo is impressive and she seamlessly strings together catchy and cute hooks. This band tries to earn a place in the punk world but for the moment Rosematter doesn’t have the potential for staying power. But they get some credits for their funny way to write songs. Hopefully their music is having the same progression in the near future.
