Where Angels Fall has released their second album called “Marionettes”. After a nice start in 2004 with the EP “Dies Irae" and the first full length album "Illuminate" this Norwegian band is ready to conquer the world. The music of Where Angels Fall can be described as groovy metal, with gothic elements, classical orchestration and electronics. Angelic female vocals stands as a contrast to the heavy riffs and energetic drums. Especially the contrasts between the soft and the hard combined with catchy choruses makes sure every crowd gets an excellent new musical experience. To make even the slightest impression or difference in the whole gothic metal scene, a band needs something different and more creative than all the other bands. Norwegian band Where Angels Fall are trying to cut their own path through this dark wilderness. This band can easily move between gothic metal on “Kyrie” to more melodic metal on the title track “Marionettes”.  “Female Stigma” on the other hand is a nearly progressive mixture of both. Where Angels Fall has some strong innovation and promise. With this second album they have proved a positive progression towards their previous work. For gothic metal fans this is surely a better release.
