Band : Anchor For Arms Album Title : Listen.React Label : Oort Records Europe Distributor : Goodlife Recordings Release Date : 29/10/2008 Release : CD Anchors for Arms is pop punk band in the style of bands like Rufio. Vocalist Ryan Lawless mumbles his way throughout the entirety of this album. There’s no energy in his voice. The first three songs sounds all the same and leaves you with a feeling to stop further listening. Track four is even worse. “No Gravity” shows some good vocals but this time the music is rather dull. Fortunately the band picks the tempo back up for their remaining songs, but the damage by “No Gravity” is done. What follows are songs that are all fairly similar to the first few tracks with exception of the last two songs. “Beyond All Doubt, Hope Lies To Us All” and closer “Kingdom Came” are the only songs from “Listen.React”. The finish of this album seems to have any emotion. Anchors for Arms is a band that fails to even be a completely enjoyable band. There’s a huge lack of energy and therefore it’s no surprise this album has gone more or less completely unnoticed as well. Solely based on listening to “Listen.React” I am not exactly looking forward to hear from this band again in the near future. 55/100 Guido Claes. |
