Release date : 11 November 2008

Sammy Hagar is without a doubt a very talented musician. He proved that through the years with Montrose, solo and of course Van Halen. We all know the Van Halen story by now so let’s focus on his newest solo effort Cosmic Universal Fashion. It’s his first album for the new label Loud & Proud Records, a new imprint of Roadrunner. They will focus on established artists. That’s the least we can say of mister Hagar. But what we hear is far from shocking. The title track has something that really wants you to hear more. Sammy wrote it with a young Iraqi Rocker listening to the typical Iraqi name of Steven Lost. Other songs like “Loud”, ”Switch of the Light” and “24365” are fun but not great. The album is ended by a crappy live version of the Van Halen song “Dreams” and also sucks big time. No, this is not a record that suits an established artist.

64/100
