Flobots released their third full length album called “Fight With Tools”. This band is a rather peculiar hip hop band. Just like many hip hop bands they use sampling in their songs but they also have a professional viola player and a trumpet player in their band. They bring some politically charged rap and spreading their politically driven songs through the album. Songs like “Same Thing” and “Stand Up” proves the variety of their lyrics. They make also place for more emotionally charged songs like “Anne Braden”. The first single from this new album is “Handlebars”. Flobots is a fresh, intelligent and socially aware hip hop band from Denver in Colorado. So if you are looking for a new sound in the indie hip hop scene, then look no further than Flobots. Their rhymes are both catchy and meaningful, and the group is incredibly outspoken in the area of politics.
They managed to create a beautiful and enticing album with an intelligent, political backdrop. And while most of the “Fight With Tools” is pretty damn impressive, there are just moments that never find their fit within the album.

78/100
