Band : Mind Gone Blind Album Title : Liars And Preachers Label : Rising Records Distributor : SPV – Gordeon Music Promotion & Management Release Date : 07/11/2008 Release : CD The Scottish basic old school rock ‘n’ roll band Mind Gone Blind released their debut album "Liars And Preachers". It takes the listener back in time to the late seventies or new bands playing that kind of stuff. The band must be given credit for showing their love for good old hard rock in the same way as ZZ Top or Nazareth. But you can also hear that this band won’t leave the blues ground. They have a simple approach of drums, bass, one guitar and one voice. And that also reflex on the poor song writing but their music is simple good rock that really work to some extent. They actually sounds like Jimmy Eat World playing something by The Calling with a little bit of The Darkness during the solo’s. The songs are full of emotion but with a lack of interesting lyrics. The beautiful song “Unknown” is a rock-ballad that every band would be proud of to have it on their album. This debut shows a nice future promise. With their eclectic mix of musical influences Mind Gone Blind develop a unique style of their own. Their powerful, melodic rock could stand the test of time. 83/100 Guido Claes. |
