Band : My Passion “Corporate Flesh Party” is the debut album of the English dance punk band My Passion. The foursome was formed in 2005 in Hertfordshire, England, after the split of the glam rock band Shard. After several demo’s and self-releasing some stuff, the band recently managed to obtain a record deal for three records with the Dutch label Mascot. And as producer for their debut album, My Passion attracted the attention of John Mitchell (Enter Shikari, You Me At Six, Funeral For A Friend). To keep it short and simple: I consider the music from My Passion as irritating soft-edged synthesizer bleeps accompanied by faggot voices. It’s hard to take this kind of music serious, I would even dare to describe it as childish. Maybe this kind of music can interest a lot of people in England, but here on the continent I think most of the people will simply ignore the band. My guess is that the target group of My Passion fans are screaming girls between 10 and 16 years old who like to wear gothic make-up as a means to express themselves. No wonder My Passion has so many friends on MySpace. My Passion is part of the London Burning Tour Part II, including gigs at Atak Enschede (the Netherlands) on November 12th 2009, Patronaat Haarlem (the Netherlands) on November 13th 2009, Underground Cologne (Germany) on November 14th 2009 and 013 Tilburg (the Netherlands)on November 15th 2009. 60/100 Erik. |
